Dave Bromelkamp is the founding principal of Allodium Investment Consultants, where he serves as president and CEO. Dave also serves on Allodium’s Investment Committee. He has more than 33 years of investment consulting experience with both institutional and individual investors.
Dave was formerly a senior vice president with RBC Dain Rauscher, where he led a team of investment management consultants providing investment advisory services to fiduciary clients and accredited investors. He was a founding member of the Senior Consulting Group at RBC Dain Rauscher, which represented a group of the firm's leading investment management consultants.
Dave has served as a director on the boards of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and Catholic Charities of St. Paul & Minneapolis. He is currently a member of the Planned Giving Committee at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota.
He is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), a professional association of fee-only advisors with high standards of professional competency and client-centered financial planning.
Dave holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies (www.fi360.com) and is one of the founding members of the Minnesota Fiduciary Roundtable, established by graduates of the Center for Fiduciary Studies as an open forum for sharing and promoting fiduciary standards and best practices.
Dave speaks frequently to professional trade associations on the best practices of fiduciary investment management. He has taught continuing professional education courses on fiduciary investment management for the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA) and the Minnesota State Bar Association. He has also taught graduate courses as an adjunct instructor in finance at the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas.

Eric Hutchens is a senior investment consultant and chief investment officer at Allodium Investment Consultants, specializing in investment strategies and comprehensive financial planning for high net worth individuals and families. Eric became a shareholder in the firm in 2017 and also currently serves as the treasurer of the firm’s Board of Managers. He also leads the CEFEX certification process for Allodium, which incorporates an evidence-based investment approach. With over 20 years of experience in the financial profession, he focuses on designing and implementing goals-based, tax-efficient investment strategies to help clients achieve their unique goals. Eric serves on Allodium’s Investment, Client Service and Financial Planning Committees.
Eric holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science in history from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. He has earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation sponsored by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. He has also been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation, sponsored by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, to further his professional development and help him better serve clients. Eric is also a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Level I candidate.

Prior to joining Allodium, Eric spent 15 years with an asset management firm in the Twin Cities, a decade of which he served as a financial planner. Eric has also been honored several times with the FIVE STAR Wealth Manager recognition as published in Mpls.St.Paul Magazine.
Eric lives in the southern suburbs with his wife, two sons and German shepherd. He enjoys spending his free time with family, attending concerts with his wife, and relaxing by the pool. Eric also volunteers at his church, where he has served on the elder board and has worked on building projects in Honduras.

Suzanne Tudor is a senior investment consultant at Allodium Investment Consultants. She takes a consultative approach to helping clients achieve their financial goals. She believes in tax efficient financial planning and investing, and in developing smart strategies to help clients take advantage of tax laws that may benefit them. Suzanne serves on Allodium’s Financial Planning Committee.
Suzanne holds a J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law where she emphasized estate planning, tax law and closely held corporations in her course of study. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas. She has been awarded the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation sponsored by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
Suzanne has over 35 years of experience in various positions in the financial services industry. For the past ten years, she has worked almost exclusively with high-net worth families and business owners to help them strategically develop and carry out their financial, legacy, and philanthropic plans.
Suzanne and her husband live in Plymouth. She enjoys finding calmness in her daily walks on the neighborhood trails. She also loves making home improvements and being a “DIY” person. She has two adult stepchildren and two grandsons who live in the area and she spends a lot of time with her extended family.

Derek Van Calligan is an investment consultant at Allodium Investment Consultants. He has spent his career as an advisor building holistic financial plans for individuals and families, and he believes that being objective is the best way to deliver financial advice. Derek is a member of Allodium’s Investment and Financial Planning Committees and he chairs the Fiduciary Consulting Committee.
Derek earned his Bachelor of Science degree in personal finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Shortly after graduation, he earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation sponsored by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. He has also been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation, sponsored by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, to help him better serve clients. To further his professional development he earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation through the American College of Financial Services, as well as the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) certification, which is administered by the Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with the Yale School of Management.

Prior to joining Allodium, Derek was a Financial Planner at a financial planning firm in Denver, Colorado, and also served on the investment committee developing investment portfolios for clients.
Derek lives in Northeast Minneapolis and enjoys exploring the surrounding neighborhood. In his free time, he likes to be outdoors hunting, fishing, or downhill skiing. He also spends his time volunteering at local charities.

Tyler Chapman serves as the director of operations and chief compliance officer at Allodium Investment Consultants. In this position, Tyler oversees and manages the ongoing operations and compliance of the firm. He also chairs the Executive Committee, leads Allodium’s company meetings, and serves on the Employee Committee.
Before coming to Allodium in 2013, Tyler served as the senior admission fellow in Amherst’s admission office, where he guided high school students in their college search, hired and managed student workers, and reviewed applications to the college alongside other deans. He also worked with the Telementoring Program, a nonprofit that assists first generation students in applying to colleges.
Tyler earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and music as a double major from Amherst College in Massachusetts.
Being a small town Minnesota native, Tyler enjoys being near his large family—parents, siblings, and many nieces and nephews, who have been growing quickly in both age and number.
In his spare time, Tyler enjoys all types of music, contributing to theater productions, and volunteering at the Guthrie Theater. He also enjoys exploring the great outdoors, camping and fishing. In addition, he has served as a financial advocate and helped develop a financial coaching program for Prepare & Prosper, a nonprofit that helps families move out of poverty.

Carrie Kaestner is the client service manager at Allodium Investment Consultants. Carrie and the Allodium service team strive to deliver impeccable customer service by adhering to high client service standards and consistently improving technology and procedures that help produce exemplary results. She also develops financial plans and prepares financial reports for prospects and existing clients. Carrie is a member of Allodium’s Client Service Committee, Financial Planning Committee and Fiduciary Management Committee.
Carrie came to Allodium in 2017 with over 18 years of experience in the Investment profession. Her previous professional experience focused on providing customer support in the areas of retirement planning, estate distribution, tax planning, and income and cash flow management. Carrie graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. She takes pride in delivering personalized client service and support so that our clients experience the best service possible.
In her spare time, Carrie is an outdoor enthusiast with a lifelong passion for horseback riding. She spends many weekends camping and exploring the trails in Minnesota and Wisconsin with her Morgan horse, Shayla, and her Tennessee Walking horse, Newman. Her two dogs, JD (English springer spaniel) and Kira (cattle dog mix) are always close by. Carrie also enjoys hunting, hiking, skiing — anything outdoors.

Renae Mottaz is a client service associate at Allodium Investment Consultants. She thrives on building relationships with clients and supporting them in all areas of their financial planning, investment and insurance needs. It brings Renae great satisfaction to help clients reach their goals and to see them take steps towards making their dreams come true. She currently serves on Allodium’s Client Service Committee.
Renae joined Allodium in 2016 after working four years as a client relationship manager for another investment advisory firm. While at this firm, Renae completed extensive coursework and training in the securities industry, passing her Series 7 and 66 exams.
Renae makes her home in Roseville with her husband, David. They have two children, Tony and Maddie. Renae enjoys spending time with her family whenever possible as they all share a love of music, baseball and camping. Renae enjoys quilting and hiking. She is active in her church and volunteers with her husband as a PREPARE mentor.

Naomi Black is a client service associate at Allodium Investment Consultants. She works with the investment consultants to review and reconcile daily transactions, prepare financial documents, schedule meetings and process paperwork for clients. She enjoys helping people achieve their goals.
Naomi joined Allodium in 2019. She previously worked in higher education as the application coordinator for the Dual Enrollment program at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul. Her work on the admissions team emphasized customer service, process improvement and communication flow to help families successfully navigate college admissions. Naomi graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in music from the University of Northwestern–St. Paul. She has also earned the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP™) designation sponsored by the College for Financial Planning.
Naomi loves to play golf and occasionally fills in with the Wayzata Symphony Orchestra on the trombone. She also enjoys spending time with her parents and her five nieces and nephews. Although Naomi is originally a Wisconsin native, she has become very fond of Minnesota and likes to spend her free time during the summer months exploring the many parks and lakes in the Twin Cities.

Kerry serves as a business operations consultant at Allodium Investment Consultants, helping to plan, manage and monitor the firm's business operations. Kerry first joined Allodium as Chief Operating Officer—initially as a consultant in 2007 and then as an employee in 2008. In late 2014, Kerry stepped down as chief operating officer to resume a remote, part-time consultant role from his home in Arizona. Kerry serves on Allodium's Executive and Compliance Committees.
Kerry has over 34 years of experience in the financial services industry in a diverse range of roles, including executive leadership, client service management, project management, technology development, sales support, marketing and finance. He joined Allodium from Ameriprise Financial where he spent most of his career earning various honors through the years for personal performance, innovation, quality and results. He has also worked for 3M and Target Corporations.
Kerry earned a Bachelor of Science in finance with honors from St. Cloud State University and a Master of Business Administration in general management with an emphasis in entrepreneurship from the University of St. Thomas.
Kerry lives with his high school sweetheart whom he had the good fortune to marry many years ago. In his free time, Kerry enjoys family, friends, learning, reading, traveling and outdoor activities like hiking, biking and kayaking.

Dawn Coughlin works part-time at Allodium, assisting with financial management, compliance, human resources, client service and office maintenance.
Dawn holds a Bachelor of Arts in individualized studies from Metropolitan State University. Prior to joining Allodium, Dawn worked at Windsor Financial Group for 18 years, assisting with client service, performance reporting, trading and compliance. She has also worked at Marquette Capital Management Corporation and Marquette Bank in their Trust Services Department.
Dawn and her husband, Brian, enjoy spending time with family and friends at their cabin in northern Minnesota. She enjoys traveling, reading mysteries and watching movies.

Ilona Avraamides is a marketing associate at Allodium Investment Consultants. Ilona is responsible for business development, branding continuity, event planning and communications. She designs and produces the educational handouts and marketing materials at Allodium. She also collaboratively writes and edits copy, maintains the website, and edits the quarterly newsletter. Ilona chairs the Marketing Committee and serves on the Employee Committee.
Ilona joined the firm in 2016 with over 18 year of experience in marketing, finance, accounting and operations in both profit and nonprofit sectors.
Ilona holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in international business from Bethel University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Iowa State University. Ilona also loves art and graphic design and has earned a continuing education professional certificate in design foundations at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
Spending time with her family is important to Ilona. She lives in Fridley with her husband, two sons and a cat. She also enjoys studying theology, reading mysteries and cooking.
