Eric Hutchens is a senior investment consultant and chief investment officer at Allodium Investment Consultants, specializing in investment strategies and comprehensive financial planning for high net worth individuals and families. Eric became a shareholder in the firm in 2017 and also currently serves as the treasurer of the firm’s Board of Managers. He also leads the CEFEX certification process for Allodium, which incorporates an evidence-based investment approach. With over 20 years of experience in the financial profession, he focuses on designing and implementing goals-based, tax-efficient investment strategies to help clients achieve their unique goals. Eric serves on Allodium’s Investment, Client Service and Financial Planning Committees.

Eric holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science in history from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. He has earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation sponsored by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. He has also been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) Designation, sponsored by  the Center for Fiduciary Studies, to further his professional development and help him better serve clients. In addition, Eric has passed the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Level I Exam administered by the CFA Institute. 

Eric is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor through the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), a professional association of fee-only advisors with high standards of professional competency and client-centric financial planning.

Prior to joining Allodium, Eric spent 15 years with an asset management firm in the Twin Cities, a decade of which he served as a financial planner. Eric has also been honored several times with the FIVE STAR Wealth Manager recognition as published in Mpls.St.Paul Magazine.

Eric lives in the southern suburbs with his wife, two sons and German shepherd. He enjoys spending his free time with family, attending concerts with his wife, and relaxing by the pool. Eric also volunteers at his church, where he has served on the elder board and has worked on building projects in Honduras.
